Ministry is very rewarding, but can be extremely overwhelming. Jesus never promised that the way would be easy, and I can say from experience that is very true. That is why membership in IAWM is so important. It is a chance to learn from other women in ministry and build supportive friendships that traverse denominations and ministry situations. We have women recent to ordained ministry, seasoned veterans of ministry, and even those who have retired. Each one has spiritual gifts and different perspectives to share. The conversations are always interesting, and the support one receives being part of the group is priceless.

The Pittsburgh chapter is a very ecumenical, welcoming, and active chapter gathering once a month. Our goal is to provide women in ministry with tools for coping, friends for the journey, and respite for the soul.

Our meeting base is the Ben Avon Community Presbyterian Church. The theme for the 2010-2011 program year is, "Women of Faith Around the World." Our tour guides will take us to the British Isles, Cuba, France, Germany, Eastern Mediterranean Countries, and parts of the United States where much is happening through the love and gifts of faithful women ministers.

I invite you to be present with us as we learn what things are happening with women ministers all over the world. Please check our upcoming events page for information on the next gathering.
