Ministry is very rewarding, but can be extremely overwhelming. Jesus never promised that the way would be easy, and I can say from experience that is very true. That is why membership in IAWM is so important. It is a chance to learn from other women in ministry and build supportive friendships that traverse denominations and ministry situations. We have women recent to ordained ministry, seasoned veterans of ministry, and even those who have retired. Each one has spiritual gifts and different perspectives to share. The conversations are always interesting, and the support one receives being part of the group is priceless.

The Pittsburgh chapter is a very ecumenical, welcoming, and active chapter gathering once a month. Our goal is to provide women in ministry with tools for coping, friends for the journey, and respite for the soul.

Our meeting base is the Ben Avon Community Presbyterian Church. The theme for the 2009-2010 program year is, "Behold, I am Making All Things New", responding to the challenge given to us by the International Assembly key note speaker, Rev. Dr. Barbara Brown Zikmund.

I invite you to be present with us as we begin a faithful journey with Christ, "making all things new", and hope that you become an active member of this wonderful group of women ministers.
