We are referred to as IAWM for short.
November 21, 1919 we were organized as the International Association of Women Preachers in the Y.M.C.A. building in St Louis, Missouri. Rev. Madeline Southard was the founder and first President.
We are an International and Interdenominational support group for Women Ministers and women preparing for ministry.
We advocate for and celebrate the ordination of women in all areas of ministry.
We honor the heritage of the past, celebrate the gains of the present, and work to shape a glorious future for women ministers.
We have members in Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Cuba, Europe, New Zealand, North and South America. They are from all different Christian denominations and even some who are ordained interdenominational or nondenominational.
